Coaches who don’t meet the criteria to apply for a skills coach position are welcome to shadow/observe at one or more camp. Please email our Swimming Talent Officer, Kevin Pickard, to register your interest in attending.
We are please to announce bookings are now open for our innovative ‘Lessons from Champions’ event on the 22nd September 2019. Full details can be found here. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis and are open to everyone (athletes, parents, coaches and volunteer) from all disciplines. Bookings close on 11th September 2019.
The 2019 Annual Report is now available to download. It summarises the great achievements of the region over the past year, and the fantastic work which has provided our members with outstanding development opportunities and competitions.
In preperation for elections at the forthcoming ACM (14 September, Freckenham Village Hall), we are seeking nominations for multiple posts. If you would like to stand for election to one, or more, of these posts, please read the role description, complete a nomination form and submit it by 23rd August 2019 to [email protected].
This annual programme is now open for applications. It is designed for Level 2 Swimming Coaches leading a squad of swimmers throughout their programme and working with those competing at regional level or above. As a senior coach, you will be able to lead a coaching team and manage resources to support all areas of a swimming club or squad programme. Every year we recognise the contribution of our members who are integral to the running of all the aquatic sports. Details of the awards now open for nominations can be found on the Regional Awards page including historical Swim England East Region Awards and awards in partnership with Swim England. All nominations will close on 31st July 2019.
Following on from last year, the region have put together another pack for anyone attending the British or English summer meets. The information is only there as a guide, but based on a large amount of feedback from parents so far, we believe it will be of use. Swim England East Region is celebrating National Volunteers Week from the 1- 7 June. It is a UK wide campaign now in its 35th year. During the week we will aim to recognise, celebrate and thank volunteers and the region would like to encourage people across the region to do the same.

The squad for the Para-Swimming World Championships being held in London from 9th-15th September 2019 has been announced by British Swimming and includes four swimmers from the East Region. Congratulations to:

All four swimmers had great success recently in Glasgow at the World Series where Ellie Challis claimed 3 British Records, 1 European Record and one World Record!
On 29th May 2019 the region will be running a swimming development event at Anglia Ruskin University for coaches, swimmers and parents. The day will feature a range of guest speakers, both from swimming and other sports, who will cover a variety of interesting topics. Full details can be found here:

The squad for the GB men’s U19 water polo team has been announced, including six players from the East. The lead coach for the squad, Dean Walker (Chelmsford), is also from the East Region. The squad is working towards qualifiers for the European Championships in 2020. For more information, including a full squad list, visit the Swim England Water Polo Hub.
