Entries open for the 2025 Long Course Championships – Weekends 2 and 3 in May

Entries have opened for the two May weekends of the Long Course Swimming Championships. Weekend 2 completes the events for swimmers who are 15 and older as well as Para swimmers. Both weekends contain all the events for swimmers aged 11 to 14. Details of the events being swum during each weekend can be found in the Race Schedule here.

The conditions and qualification times (unchanged from those published on 2nd January) for the meet are on the Swimming Competitions page which can be found here.

Para Entries have a dedicated entry page here and Para Swimmers should enter via that page rather than the main online system even if they are fast enough for the non Para times as that way we can ensure they are correctly identified. There are some combinations of events and classifications that do not have Para times meaning Para swimmers can enter if they have achieved the time for non Para swimmers and the entry method allows for that, there is no need to do two entries.

Entries will close at midnight on 22nd April.

Clubs holding meets on the weekend prior to the close date are asked to submit results to rankings promptly so that they can be used to enter by the closing date. The main entry system can be found here.

To make an individual entry

Select your club from the drop down list and click on the enter button. Then click on the membership number against your name. If a swimmer does not appear on the club list check that the swimmer is a Club Compete member. If they are not then the club will need to upgrade the membership in order for them to appear on the list. All your times will be shown with those that qualify you for entry already ticked. Untick any you do not wish to enter and then click on the Add to the entry list button. On the next screen either click to Add more or edit selection or Finished – submit entries.

The time shown on the first entry is the one that will be used, improved times will not be accepted. You therefore need to delay entry until the system shows the time you want to enter with. If a swimmer qualifies for a new event having entered others the event can be added by doing a new entry.

The system checks whether you have already entered an event and if so will not show a tick box for that event to prevent a further entry being made.

If you click on Add more you will go back to the club selection page so follow the instructions above. To amend your entry just select your club and yourself. To enter another swimmer select the club and that swimmer.

If you click on Finished – submit entries. you will go to a new screen that allows you to enter some contact, complete that and click on Submit and pay which will take you to a Paypal screen. Entries will only be submitted once a Paypal payment is made.

Entries for the first weekend of the Long Course Championships are closing soon

Entries for the first weekend will close at midnight on 24th March, just a few days away.

This year that is a strict deadline as we do not have the time to offer a review period. There is an exception to this, if a swimmer achieves a qualifying time (not an improved qualifying time) at a meet on 22-23 March where the club has an issue uploading their results file to rankings we will work to ensure they can enter the Championships.

All Para entries have received an email detailing their entries. Anybody who entered via the main entry system is asked to check their entries before the close using the entry viewer at https://www.swimmingresults.org/events/common24/entryviewer.php?comp=eastregion-lc25mar or for relay entries https://www.swimmingresults.org/events/eastregion-lc25mar/relayentryviewer.php.

If you believe an event is missing you can check whether it is still open to enter using the entry system at https://www.swimmingresults.org/events/eastregion-lc25mar/. If an event has already been entered the system will not show a tick box for that event to prevent a further entry being made. The time shown on the first entry is the one that will be used, times will not be updated.

Any issues with entries should be reported to swimentries@eastswimming.org.

We have contacted clubs that have meets on 22-23 March and have set up Zoom meetings with them to discuss how we can minimise and overcome any issues that arise. We have also contacted the rankings team who have agreed to help us to ensure that no swimmer misses out on the opportunity to enter the Championships.

We are still short of Officials and Volunteers for the March Norwich weekend. If you are able to help at the Championships you can sign up at https://www.eastswimming.org/swimming/swimming-officials-application-to-officiate/

Long Course Championships March Weekend – Provisional Timetable

As there are only a few days between the close of entries and the swimming of the first event we are not able to publish a timetable based on actual entries early enough for those attending to be able to plan for the weekend.

The provisional timetable below is based on the assumption that entries are similar to last year. If there are more entries than we anticipate the sessions will be extended as we expect to be able to accept all entries. Should entries be lower than anticipated we will not change the Warm Up Start times so they should be considered as “no earlier than” times.

We are looking for Officials and Volunteers for the Championships the sign-up link is Technical Officials and Poolside Volunteers Applications to Officiate at Regional Swimming Competitions – Swim England East Region
